And......We are extremely excited & honored to have a feature article on Turquoise Barn in Purely Delicious
Magazine!
We are in the summer issue coming out sometime the end of this week.  This is one of my favorite
magazines…..way before this article was even in the works.
For those of you not familiar with Purely Delicious, it is a beautiful eco-living, raw food magazine featuring music, food,
recipes, travel, etc.  This month,
Jason Mraz is on the cover and Turquoise Barn is inside – so worth checking
out if you have a chance. You can pick-up a copy at most health foods stores including Whole Foods or purchase on-line
at Amazon or the Purely Delicious site.  www.123raw.com
Here’s a
link to the preview of our article – can’t really read it yet but you can see the pictures!

Did I mention we are excited!

Back to August Events

Monthly Full Moon Vegetarian Potluck
Due to the number of hardcore, closet, curious,  wanna be and already  vegetarians, vegans, and raw foodists
that I’ve been meeting out there……I’ve decided to begin a monthly full moon vegetarian potluck. Yes, I know, she’
s adding something else to the plate?  Well I think it’s important to support those new to changing their diet and to
help those curious and interested parties.
And it’s a great opportunity even if you’re not interested in
vegetarian, vegan or raw food for all of us who keep saying “yeah, we have to get together soon”….
and then months & years go by….to actually “get together”.  It’s also a great opportunity to create a
monthly gathering of friends and to get acquainted with others in our community.
   We will begin next
month -
Tuesday August 24th at 6:00 p.m.  Everyone is invited, we just ask that you bring a
vegetarian, vegan, or rawfood dish or beverage and please clearly label anything that may include any animal
products (eggs, cheese, milk, butter, mayonnaise, whey, honey) for the vegans who may be attending.
And for those interested, Niradhara Marie will be performing a fire ceremony after the potluck.  You can read
more about the fire ceremony at http://agnihotrin.blogspot.com

Our “Mexican Raw Taco Fiesta” was a great success.  Next month we will be hosting another dinner at the
Supper Club:
Garden of Deelights Dinner Party
Saturday August 21st –  $38 suggested donation  SOLD OUT!
This is a time of abundance in the garden so it deserves a special party.  Menu will be announced closer to the
date.   All I can say is the meal will be made from scratch, using as many ingredients from my garden, all will be
organic, vegan (no animal products), sugar & wheat free – but most importantly……fresh & delicious.   BTW -
You don’t have to be vegetarian to enjoy our dinners – we have satisfied some of the most hesitant of
guests, include big men with hearty appetites who really just want a big meat & potato dinner but come along just
to make their wives happy.  As always, advanced reservations and prepay are required.

Pre-Order, Pick-up - Fresh, Local, Organic Produce,  Flowers, & More:
As we announced a few weeks ago, our pre-order pick-up service has begun.
In addition to fresh vegetables, flowers, & herbs, we will also have a variety of special items such as organic raw nuts &
dates, raw cacao, coconut, local honey & bee pollen, baked and “unbaked” raw goodies & treats.

Here’s how it works:  We send you a weekly listing on Monday of what’s available; you order via email by Wednesday for
a Saturday pick-up at Turquoise Barn of your own personal package.   We will also be posting our list on the website and
our facebook page.  If you’re interested in participating and
supporting local farmers, please let us know if you would
like to be added to our email list.
Pre-ordering ensures you get the quantity and variety you want and it also produces less waste and work for everyone.
If you cannot pre-order, there will also be a variety of produce available in the store Friday & Saturday from 11 – 4 and we
will be at the Hobart Farmers Market from 4-7.   Any questions,  just give us a call or email 538-
1235.  Membership is
free.

This week we have a variety of yummy
“Better than Baked Goodies”.  All of our Baked and “Better
than Baked” products are organic and made without any animal products and most are
gluten & sugar free.
Besides being yummy, they are ideal for those who are lactose intolerant
or who follow a wheat-free diet.  Our sugar free products are sweetened using only
natural
sugar sources from fruits, including dates & coconut nectar.
Also, if you have a special request or would like to place an order for a party or gathering,  let us
know and we’ll see if we can accommodate you.
You can keep abreast of what we have to offer each week by joining our special weekly email listing or simply
check the website.  You can pre-order via email or phone or stop by Turquoise Barn and see what we have
available in the store.
Orders can be picked-up Thursday or Saturday.  Please place your order at
least 24 hours in advance.  Support our local farmers -
Pre-ordering insures you get exactly what you
want, produces less waste and is more efficient for the farmer.

Thursday - Saturday August 19- August 21 - We will also be at the Hobart Farmers Market on Friday
from 4-7.
